As you may have noticed we have changed our website. We appologize for the change but it was necessary. The Google Blogger Program is free and the old website had a cost that was covered by a flat donation from Shaan last year. It doesn't make sense to spend $150 in hosting when that money could go to a scout.
As you will see this Blogger Site is equally useful if not better.

RADIO MERIT BADGE

TROOP 570 would like to thank Ed Martin for successfully helping several of our scouts in achieving the Radio Merit Badge. Any scouts wishing to take this course please contact your scoutmaster and we can set up another session.
Ed thank you for your dedication to scouting. The scouts enjoyed your presentation, and the hands on experience you provided.

Camp Mensinger
Congratulations to all of the scouts who went to Camp John Mensinger. This summer camp was a huge success. The troop earned nearly 140 merit badges and most scouts averaged about 5. Thank you to all of the adult leaders who helped make this camp a reality. We should have a very exciting "Court of Honor" in August.

CAMP MENSINGER
Summer camp is around the corner. Some scouts have partial completion of merit badges from Camp Wolfboro. Click to see a list of potential merit badge classes offered at Camp John Mensinger. Scout camp is an awesome experience, we hope that our whole troop will attend.
MANDATORY: Scouts must sign up for merit badges prior to camp. The earlier the better, because there are many merit badges that are first come first serve. As a Troop policy we are requiring first year scouts to take Swimming, and First Aid; and not allowing them to take any firearms or archery (nearly impossible for the younger first year scouts, great for second or third year scouts). Please note that nearly all of these Merit Badge classes come with prerequisites, meaning there will need to be some prep work prior to camp.
Please click here for Annual Medical & Health Form. This needs to be submitted by the first meeting in June for anyone going to camp.

CONGRATULATIONS TROOP 570
Congratulations for all of those who participated and helped with our 20 Mile Hike. It was by no means easy, though it was fun, and will be memory that every person will cherish.
This satisfies one major requirement on the Hiking Merit badge, which is an Eagle required merit badge. Combined with the Rim of the Bay hikes last summer, this hike will qualify those scouts for this merit badge. There are just a few written requirements needed to be completed by the scouts. Some of these requirement may have been met if the scout already has the First Aid merit badge.
